Living with Space – Declutter the Living Room

We made it around the house!  The Living Room!

Look around the room and bring out those three boxes again and start getting rid of things that need to go to another room, things that need to go to a new home and things that need to go in the trash!  Finished?

Let’s get the room organized.

Check the shelves, table tops, etc.  Use the rule of three: no more than three items on a flat surface (only exception, books & magazines).

While you are repositioning things go ahead and wash the knick-knacks, dust the shelves, table tops and straighten the books in the case.

Open all the drawers in the room and remove all the unwanted items

Clean out the magazine rack or buy a magazine rack to keep them tidy

Lift up all the cushions and vacuum

Move all the furniture and vacuum

Set up areas for toys, games etc. if this is the room they will be kept in

Take the curtains down and wash

Tidy up all the cords so that you can’t see them
